Architecture Studio V

This mixed use building is meant to redefine what social housing can look like. Community is the foundation of this project with a footprint giving public space back to the city with a central micro park. A bike shop and second story café are also provided for external community engagement each with programs existing to service education on bike maintenance and local food sourcing. Each dwelling unit includes a basic kitchenette and a lofted bed space for dedicated privacy. Amenities include fitness centers, storage units, and access to a variety of shared spaces. Over half a dozen separate shared spaces exist with varying degrees of privacy. In the less private areas, the ceilings are tall and open, great for hosting events and get togethers. The shared space has a split level where two studies and a large kitchen nest. These spaces allow for more private gatherings, studying, artist studios, or computer work. The hope is that a project like this would invite community-minded residents willing to create a culture from within. Open areas exist to host events whether its a game night, musical performance, art show or whatever motivates the residents. This building is meant to support a microcosm of the Denver community.
